Hello everybody,
Welcome to December. Now that we are in a new term you should all be reading AR books again. Has any one finished a good book lately that you would recommend? I'm still recommending Hugo. I haven't seen too many people reading it yet. I'm looking forward to hearing about what's new in your Reading world.
Hello Mrs.Phillips
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book named Buddy written by Ellen Miles. Buddy is about a dog named Skipper and her puppies. They ended up at a shelter called Caring Paws, because they didn't have a home. Lizzie Peterson works at Caring Paws and she sees Skipper and her litter. Lizzie calls her mom and asked her to come to the shelter to have a family discussion about taking the litter home.
When the Peterson's family arrive at Caring Paws, Lizzie shows her family Skipper and the little. At first Lizzie's mom was very upset then she said yes so they took all the puppies home.
This is how the puppies arrived at the Peterson's home. I am still reading this book.
Dear Mrs.Phillips
ReplyDeleteI just finished the Wailing Siren Mystery. I liked it because it had a lot of action and it used some cool stuff like a gas gun and some high tech rifles. My favorite part of the story was when Frank and Joe went into North Woods and got attacked by wolves.I recommend this book to the boys in the class, like Ben or Dylan. I know they would like this book because it has a lot of adventure and excitement. My favorite book series is the Hardy Boys!! Please read my blogs under the November section. Thank you.
Patrick
Dear Mrs. Phillips
ReplyDeleteI am reading The City Of Ember. This series is definately my favorite because it is so descriptive and intriguing. Here is a sample sentence. "Trembling, her mind a wordless whirl of dread, she waited". I love when they write like that and you can see it in your mind. Another sentence is "The ground is rough out there, he held up one hand and stared at the red scratches on it, which oozed with drops of blood. I just think it is so descriptive. Its almost like poetry.
Dear Mrs.Phillips,
ReplyDeleteI just finished Hugo. I liked the book because it gives a good vivid descriptions in the story. My favorite part was at the end of the book when Papa Georges took Hugo in. Another part that I was interested in, was how Hugo's uncle died in such a horrible way!! I think that was one of the saddest parts of the story. I know you have been recommending this book. Keep doing that because it is a really great book!!!!

Dear Tiarra,
ReplyDeleteI'd guess that by now you have finished your book. I enjoy reading your entries, they are very informative. Did Lizzy end up keeping all the puppies?
Dear Patrick,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you enjoyed Hugo. It is a very different book. It was interesting to have part of the story told through pictures. It made me happy that in the end Hugo got a family.
Hi Alexis,
ReplyDeleteHave you Finished The City of Ember yet? I agree that there is some great descriptive writing in that series. I love how the whole series is so closely connected, but you don't know really how much until you get to the last book.
